I first listened to Ellie Goulding since her single, Lights back in 2010. I grew to love her more during her Halcyon Days and How Long Will I Love You completely swept me off my feet.

As you know, Delirium was her last album which was released in 2015. So, she has been quiet for a quite some time, only releasing singles now and then. This time, she came back with a new masterpiece, Brightest Blue.

I faced my fears till I made it here,                                                                                                             Now I don't know where to stand.

The album starts off with Start, which I think is a strong opening to begin with.  It definitely intrigues me to listen to the whole album to see what type of music she has been working on.

Personally, I love Ode To Myself the most. I love the heavy guitar in the song. It brings out the haunting, sexy kind of vibes. I think Ellie's voice suits to sing this type of slow, acoustic songs instead of EDM. This way you can actually hear her sweet voice. The only bad thing about Ode To Myself is that it's too short. I wish she'd make more music like this.

Brightest Blue sounds kind of like a holy song which I really like. I like how the music is calming, a perfect music to listen to when I'm studying. For some reason, I prefer her solos than the songs she featured with other artists. Though Slow Grenade is starting to grow on me.

Overall, I think Brightest Blue definitely sounds more mature than her previous albums. The lyrics are good in most of the songs. I'm really enjoying it!
